Universal Studios Burned Down in Huge Fire
A fire burned down a lot of the Universal Studios film company in Southern California.
A large fire erupted at Universal Studios film company in Los Angeles. The fire was reported just before dawn on Sunday.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, according to Frank Reynoso, the Los Angeles fire captain.
Reynoso said filming could have been going on at the time and that there had been at least one explosion.
The fire is contained to the back lot, and firefighters were working to ensure the flames would not spread to the surrounding area.
Daryl Jacobs, the Los Angeles county fire inspector, said at least one building had burned and as many as three blocks of movie facades were destroyed.
About 100 city and county firefighters rushed to help studio firefighters tackle the fire.
For a time, firefighting helicopters swept in to drop water.
