Nepal is set to become the world's newest republic, as majority of Nepalese will vote to end almost two centuries of royal rule.

Officials said Nepal's royal family will have 15 days to vacate the palace before they declare the country a republic.

Nepal's King Gyanendra has not made a public statement in light of the impending dissolution of the monarchy.

The newly-elected assembly threatened to remove the king by force if he will not leave his throne peacefully.
