
Benazir Bhutto Wounded in Explosion
Benazir Bhutto was injured and admitted to the hospital; explosion killed 15 people after an election rally.
Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was wounded in a gun and suicide bomb attack after an election rally in the city of Rawalpindi, according to security official and police.
"She is injured," said party security official Rehman Malik. Bhutto had been taken to hospital.
"As party leaders, including Bhutto, started coming out a man tried to go close to them and then he fired some shots and blew himself up," said Yaseen, a police officer, at the scene.
Police said about 15 people had been killed in the blast.
Earlier, party officials said Bhutto was safe, Reuters reported.
