U.S. Army to Review Military Hospitals

U.S. Army officials announced that it will send inspection teams to military hospitals nationwide to see if poor conditions are common.

U.S. Army officials announced that it will send inspection teams to military hospitals nationwide to see if poor conditions recently uncovered at Walter Reed Army Medical Center are common, following a warning from lawmakers that public complained about poor medical care of veterans elsewhere.

"I am very disturbed by what we're learning," said Rep. Henry Waxman, D-Calif, adding that public has little tolerance for mishandling the medical care of U.S. troops, "People are flooding us with complaints that it's not just Walter Reed."

The Army did not specify which of its medical installations are to be checked, and it could not be determined yesterday if two in Kentucky -- Ireland Army Community Hospital at Fort Knox and Blanchfield Army Community Hospital at Fort Campbell - are part of the review.
