Little Beauty Queen Trampled at Rodeo Parade

5-year-old Brielle Boisvert died in a tragic rodeo parade accident.

5-year-old Brielle Boisvert died in a freak accident at Tuscon Rodeo Parade. The girl was thrown off her mount on a wagon and was trampled by an out-of-control team of horses.

Brielle, who held the title of "Little Miss Sonoita," was riding as a member of Sonoita's Rodeo Royalty. A wagon behind her group was reportedly going too fast and ran into Brielle's horse. The horse buckled, and the girl was thrown off. She was run over by the horses and the wagon behind her.

Brielle Boisvert died from her injuries University Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Darci Slaton said.

Police says the girl should not have been riding her horse in the parade, as no one under the age of eight may ride a horse.

However, Brielle's friends say she was an experienced horse rider: she participated in Junior Rodeo and also performed with her family's band as a singer and fiddle player.
