Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Special Victims Unit have arrested and charged a Mississauga man with sex related offences.

These charges stem from incidents which occurred in 1978, while the suspect was a teacher at Shelter Bay Public School in Mississauga.

On Tuesday, March 11, 2008, 55 year old Cornelis KERSTEN of Oakville was arrested and charged with Indecent Assault on a Male and Gross Indecency.

He was released on a Promise to Appear and is now scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on April 7, 2008. Mr. Kersten is currently employed by the Peel District School Board as an occasional teacher.
