Now that we're past the second game of the World Series, the Red Sox's edge will not be quite as great with the World Series moving to Colorado. With the no designated hitter (DH) rule in National League ballparks, the game's most fearful DH will have a different role. David Ortiz will be at first base, though manager Terry Francona may have to rest him some because he has torn meniscus in his right knee and faces postseason surgery.

"That's something we have to figure out," Francona said. "Whoever's not playing, there's going to be a hole." In any case, Francona must remove one of his big hitters, either Ortiz, third baseman Mike Lowell or first baseman Kevin Youkilis. If Youkilis sits out, Ortiz would play first. If Lowell sits out, Youkilis would play third. In that scenario, both Youkilis and Ortiz would be playing out of position. Ortiz has played 7 errorless interleague games at first, but his tender knee would limit his movement around the bag.
