NBA Denies Controlling Referees

In the wake of the latest scandals to hit the sports arena, several referees have broken this strict anti-gambling policy.

 
The NBA and the NBA referees' union Sunday denied reports that six referees have been disciplined for violating the league's anti-gambling policy in the aftermath of the gambling scandal involving ex-referee Tim Donaghy.

"There is no truth to the report," NBA spokesman Tim Frank said in an e-mail” as reported by USA Today.

Reports have surfaced that people were reprimanded, but the NBA denies that such things took place. Referees have a strict anti-gambling policy which they must follow which includes not going to any casinos.
