Amy Winehouse Arrested for Drug OffenceAmy Winehouse was arrested on suspicion of drug offenses on Wednesday, police sources said.Amy Winehouse was arrested earlier today and is currently being held on suspicion of drugs offenses, NBC News confirmed. "At 1 p.m. (1200 GMT) on Wednesday, a 24-year-old woman attended a London police station by arrangement," police said in a statement. "She was arrested in connection with alleged possession of a controlled drug." Police declined to give more details. However, it is believed that the arrest has to do with a video of the singer allegedly smoking crack, which was given to police in January. In the clip, Amy Winehouse is seen snorting several substances believed to be illegal drugs including ecstasy and cocaine, according to Sky News. Winehouse was held overnight in a cell last month but was released without charge after admitting assault by slapping a man with her hand. Following the singer’s arrest, her rep issued a statement indicating Winehouse voluntarily turned herself in. “Amy Winehouse voluntarily attended a London police station today by appointment. She was arrested in order to be interviewed and is co-operating fully with inquiries,” the rep’s statement read. “The interview relates to a video handed to police earlier this year.” Amy Winehouse, whose battle against drug addiction has often overshadowed her recording success, is said to be worth an estimated 10 million pounds ($20 million dolars) in the latest Sunday Times Rich List.
