Jackass 2 Tops Weekend Box Office

Jackass Number Two, a lineup of crazy stunts, won the weekend box office race with $28 million.

Jackass Number Two grossed an estimated $28 million during its opening weekend, taking the number one spot at the box office.

Jackass Number Two, a lineup of crazy stunts, is the sequel to the 2002 comedy film, Jackass: The Movie. The movie was filmed in the US, as well as in India, Australia, and Moscow, and cost just $11.5 million to make.

However, just on the opening weekend, Jackass Number Two easily outrun the first creation, Jackass: The Movie.

Most of the original cast came back to do the movie, including Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Ryan Dunn, Chris Pontius, Steve-O, Dave England, Ehren McGhehey, Preston Lacy, and Jason "Wee-Man" Acuña; Chris Raab did not return.

Based on the MTV show that featured Johnny Knoxville and his gang doing neck-wrecking stunts, Jackass Number Two also includes cameos by Luke Wilson, as well as cult film directors John Waters (Hairspray), Jay Chandrasekhar (Super Troopers) and Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head).

Rap group Three 6 Mafia also appears, as well as HIM singer Ville Valo.

Van Toffler, president of MTV's music and film group, said Knoxville was astonished by the movie's success.

"I think it was, 'Holy blank, we've done it again. What is wrong with the country?'" Toffler said, as quoted by AP.
