The European Commission has approved a $3.1 billion deal which will have Google make a huge aqcuisition in the form of DoubleClick.

DoubleClick is an online ad network, a company which Google has been trying to finalize a deal to buy since last November.

U.S. regulators approved the deal back in December, but Europe was yet to do the same.

The EC put out a statement saying "The Commission found that the merged entity would not have the ability to engage in strategies aimed at marginalising Google's competitors, mainly because of the presence of credible ad-serving alternatives, in particular Microsoft, Yahoo and AOL."
