New Canadian Website for Foreign Brides

The website that addresses issues facing foreign brides, such as their decision to marry and move to Canada or what their legal rights are when they’re here.

For a first time in Canada (and possibly North America) there’s a website that addresses issues facing foreign brides, such as their decision to marry and move to Canada or what their legal rights are when they’re here.

The site, Canadian Law & Modern Foreign Brides, was created by “Changing Together … A Centre for Immigrant Women,” and is a product of the partnership with the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Extension and the Legal Resource Centre of Alberta.

The website, http://www.lawforforeignbrides.ca, was developed because of the need for information prospective brides want before deciding to move; for example, how to apply for visas and sponsorship for permanent residency. The website was created with input from foreign brides and people who helped them.
