Apple Reportedly Sold 5 Million iPhones

One of the most recent rumors that started to spread on the Internet is that Apple has sold whopping five million iPhones.

Apple has sold nearly five million iPhones, that is half of Steve Jobs’ sales goal for 2007 and 2008.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple is expected to announce this extraordinary achievement with the occasion of its Macworld Expo, which will take place next month.

If the rumor proves to be accurate, it will mean that Apple is exactly halfway to reaching Steve Jobs’ target of selling 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. In January 2008, the iPhone will have 11 months left to go and some big potential markets to launch on.

On September 10, Apple announced that it sold 1 million iPhones since the smart phone went on sale in summer. However, after the famous surprising 33 percent price cut, sales almost tripled, according to Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster.
